LFR says dog dies days after house fire in Heart of Lubbock, 1 person still hospitalized

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Fire Rescue on Monday said a house fire in the 2100 block of 32nd Street that left one person dead also claimed the life of a dog.

LFR said the call came in just after 1:15 p.m. on Friday. According to LFR, crews found smoke coming from the windows. Two people and a dog were in the home. EverythingLubbock.com previously reported both people were taken to University Medical Center, where one passed away on Friday.

As of Monday, LFR said the other person remained in critical condition.
