Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Notices (WARN) showed the facility, located in the 3200 block of Avenue B, will close on March 31. In a statement sent to EverythingLubbock.com , Shearer’s said the decision to close came “largely due to a decrease in demand from the largest customer of the facility.”

The company said employees were offered benefits to stay employed until the facility closes. In the statement, Shearer’s also said it will help team members find new employment and give them the chance to transfer to another facility.
