How Girl Scouts is helping shape the next generation of leaders

LUBBOCK, Texas — If you’ve been shopping around Lubbock, you might have noticed a Girl Scout cookie sales table outside of various businesses.

EverythingLubbock.com spoke with Syndey Moore, a Girl Scout Cadette, and spokesgirl for Girl Scouts about her experiences selling Girl Scout cookies, and what she learned from it.

“We learn how to sell things and pitch things to people, which is something I probably wouldn’t know how to do without Girl Scouts,” Moore said.

Moore said the Girl Scout cookie sales in Lubbock have helped benefit by allowing the organization to work on various service projects.

“They let us do different service projects like our Cookies to Heroes which sends Girl Scout cookies to places like fire departments and police stations,” Moore said.

Moore said the Girl Scouts has helped shape her life and spoke of the benefits of joining the organization.

“It has improved my life a lot, one main thing is that I have learned to be more social. It also has let me know the importance of selling things. When I first started I didn’t know how to do any of that,” Moore said.
