3 arrests made over deadly Easter Sunday shooting in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — Johnny Bermea, Jr., 19, Erica Jimenez, 36, and Henry Bermea, 37, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with a shooting that left two men dead on Easter Sunday in the 1900 block of 36th Street, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

Johnny Bermea, Jr. was accused of Aggravated Assault. Henry and Jimenez were charged with Abandoning or Endangering a Child. LPD said the three were arrested by the Texas Anti-Gang Center in the 900 block of Tulane Street just after 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday. They were taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center, and each given a $300,000 bond.

Police said officers were initially called for the shooting at 5:23 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

LPD said 36-year-old Johnny Bermea, 33-year-old Jeremy Bermea and 48-year-old Jose Lopez were found with gunshot wounds. All three were taken to University Medical Center by EMS, where Johnny and Jeremy were pronounced dead. Police said Lopez had serious injuries.
