Stabbing at Blue Sky before Lubbock SWAT callout detailed in police report

LUBBOCK, Texas — A report from the Lubbock Police Department on Friday revealed more information about what led to a stabbing at a restaurant in the 3200 block of 4th Street before a SWAT callout at a nearby apartment complex.

A redacted report obtained by EverythingLubbock.com stated on June 21, officers were called to Blue Sky at 12:46 p.m. Several reporting parties called police and said an employee at Blue Sky had stabbed another staff member. When officers arrived, several Texas Forest Service employees were providing first aide to the victim.

According to the report, the stabbing happened in the kitchen of the restaurant. The victim told police he took a dish over to Eddie Casias, 18, who seemed “visibly upset.” According to the report, the victim told police he asked Casias if he was okay. The victim said Casias responded with something to the effect of, “What is that supposed to mean?”
