Texas Tech alum secures 2024 Olympic spot, headed to Paris

LUBBOCK, Texas– Former Red Raider Monae’ Nichols secured a spot on the U.S. Women’s Olympic Track and field team on Saturday night, according to a post from the Texas Tech Track & Field and Cross Country.

Ruidoso exclusion zones reopened, containment efforts continue

Nichols moved from 4th to 3rd place after hitting the Olympic standard of 6.86 meters on her final jump.

Nichols previously won a silver medal in the long jump category at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in March.
