LUBBOCK, Texas — Yesway announced that a new tradition will be born on Sept. 7, 2024: “World Famous Burrito Day.”
According to a press release, Sept. 7 is significant because it marks the birthday of the convenience store chain’s founder, Lonnie Allsup, and the company’s year-long 50th Anniversary celebration of the iconic Allsup’s deep-fried burrito.

To celebrate, Yesway is offering a special treat for visitors on Saturday: buy one beef and bean burrito, get one free.
This offer is exclusive to Yesway and Allsup’s Rewards members, the press release said. The celebration will continue throughout September and October, during which rewards members who buy two Pepsi or Mountain Dew 20-ounce bottled beverages can purchase an Allsup’s Burrito for just 50 cents.
