Lubbock-area schools evacuated after bomb threats, officials said ‘no immediate danger’

LUBBOCK, Texas — Officials with the Lubbock and Frenship Independent School Districts said law enforcement believed there was “no immediate danger” after bomb threats at Coronado High School and Frenship High School on Monday.

“We understand this news may cause concern, but please rest assured that all safety protocols are being followed,” Lubbock ISD stated in a letter sent to families.

Both Frenship High School and Coronado High School students and staff were evacuated to a safe area as a precaution. Frenship ISD said the Ninth Grade Center was not included in the threat.

An update from Frenship ISD said parents can pick up their students by parking at the stadium and getting to the west side ticket booth. If your student drives, they are allowed to leave school for the day. Students who ride the bus will remain at the field house. Students are not allowed to go back into the building at this time, FISD said.
