Enrollment at Texas Tech exceeds 41K students for the first time in history

LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech University announced on Monday that enrollment numbers surpassed 41,000 for the first time in school history. Texas Tech said on the 12th class day, enrollment numbers reached 41,045.

As the university continues to grow, it enhances student support resources for its students.

In the 2024 academic year, Texas Tech awarded a record of 9,994 degrees for the 2024 academic year as well as a record four and six-year graduation rates of 50% and 66%. Texas Tech reported a 20% increase in four-year graduation rates over the past five years. For the first time in its 25-year history, the Honors College enrollment exceeded 2,000 students.

The university increased its access by offering alternative pathways to help non-traditional students reach their academic goals with the 10K Degree Completion Program.

“At Texas Tech, we continue to place students first and provide an educational experience that ensures they have the skills to succeed in the workplace and in their chosen careers,” said President Lawrence Schovanec. “We are also responding to the changing student demographics by strategically reaching a broader range of students including non-traditional and transfer students, and those who left college without completing a degree.”
