DPS Trooper airlifted to Lubbock after getting hit by vehicle in Ector County

LUBBOCK, Texas β€” The Texas Department of Public Safety on Tuesday said a Trooper was airlifted to a Lubbock-area hospital after being struck by a vehicle along State Highway 246 in Ector County.

A statement from DPS said the trooper was outside his vehicle investigating a crash when he was hit by a vehicle around 9:00 a.m.

DPS said the Trooper was seriously hurt and was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa before being airlifted to Lubbock.

β€œAt this time, the Trooper remains in serious but stable condition,” DPS said.

The investigation is ongoing, according to DPS.
