Texas Veterans Commission to present over $2.7M in grants to veteran service organizations in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — On Thursday, the Texas Veterans Commission will present “big checks” to grant recipients at Refuge Services in Lubbock. A press release stated TVC will present $2,775,000 to eight organizations, for providing services to Panhandle veterans and their families.

Of the eight organizations three organizations in Lubbock will receive the grants.

The event will present funding by TVC’s Fund for Veterans Assistance to government and non-profit veteran serving organizations.

Below are the FVA grant recipients with their services included.

  • Lubbock Regional MHMR Center: $255,000 grant for financial assistance
  • Refuge Services: a $200,000 grant for clinical counseling
  • Hale County Meals on Wheels: a $80,000 grant for support services
  • Cornerstone Community Action Agency:

$300,000 grant for financial assistance

$495,000 grant for home modifications

  • Panhandle Community Services:

$300,000 grant for financial assistance

$500,000 grant for home modifications

  • Potter County: a $240,000 grant for veterans treatment court program
  • The Salvation Army – Amarillo: a $105,000 grant for homeless veteran support
  • West Central Texas Regional Foundation: a $300,000 grant for financial assistance
