LUBBOCK, Texas — Winston Lee Caraway, 61, pleaded no contest on Tuesday to Manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Caraway’s case was initially supposed to go to jury trial, but he made a plea agreement instead.
On September 21, 2020, officers were called to the 1800 block of East Colgate Street. Police found Kyera “Polly” Jones, 26, with a life-threatening stab wound. She was taken to University Medical Center by EMS, where she was pronounced dead.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported Caraway was the one who called 911. According to court documents, Caraway told authorities Jones had been in a fight and had a puncture wound. The warrant stated Caraway told police Jones was asleep for about two days.
