‘It’s been a dream’: Couple opens restaurant and bar in South Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Brass Tap officially opened in Lubbock on Monday. Owners, Rebecca and Robert Samaniego are excited for what’s to come for the upscale craft beer bar.

Monday’s grand opening was a result of about three years of work between the two of them. The ups and downs to get to the point of the opening were well worth it for the couple.

“It’s been a dream, so it’s kind of surreal right now that we’re open and it’s actually a living, breathing restaurant bar,” Robert said.

The restaurant has about 45 beers on tap, packaged beer and a variety of food. It plans to have several events such as karaoke and trivia.

“I definitely think we’ve got something to offer everyone,” Rebecca said.

Although the restaurant and bar opened on Monday, it will have a grand opening event and ribbon cutting on October 17 in partnership with Two Docs. The Brass Tap plans to be an active part of the Lubbock community in the future with additional events
