Police ID motorcyclist killed in early Saturday crash in west Lubbock

Police are asking the public for information about a crash early Saturday in southwest Lubbock that left one person dead.

According to LPD, officers responded to a report of a collision with injuries at 12:45 a.m. in the 7000 block of Spur 327.

During the initial investigation, it appears that a motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Joshua Bustos Jr. was westbound in the 6500 block of Spur 327. Bustos lost control of the motorcycle at one point and was struck by a car while in the roadway.

Bustos was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the driver of the car was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately clear.

The investigation is ongoing, with LPD asking anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact Crime Line at 806-741-1000 or Detective Matt Roller at 806-775-2876.
