Lubbock Police identify the teen who died in fatal Downtown car crash

LUBBOCK, Texas — According to the Lubbock Police Department they have identified those who were involved in a fatal car crash that happened early Sunday morning in Downtown Lubbock .

Lubbock Police Department press release:

“The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a collision that left one person dead, and four others injured.

Officers responded to a report of a collision with injuries at the intersection of 16th Street and
Avenue K at 12:04 a.m. on September 29th.

Through the initial course of the investigation, it appears, a SUV, driven by 19-year-old Carlos
Sanchez-Luna, was traveling north in the 1700 block of Avenue K.

A passenger car was traveling west and collided with the SUV at the intersection of 16th Street and Avenue K.

The SUV spun and struck a tree. Sanchez-Luna was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four passengers in the SUV were injured.

19-year-old Dylan Burton and 20-year-old Gabrielle Perez suffered serious injuries. 19-year-old Wyatt Stewart and 19-year-old Alexandra Sigel suffered minor injuries.
