Crews battling fire after concrete truck strikes gas meter in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Fire Rescue said crews responded to the 6000 block of 77th Street on Monday morning after a concrete truck struck a gas meter, leading to a fire.

Crews were called around 8:25 a.m.

LFR said crews arrived and found the gas meter, concrete truck, electrical box and shed on fire.

“Crews are still actively fighting this fire protecting nearby exposures until the gas and power can be isolated,” LFR stated.
