Lubbock Animal Services still urgently needing fosters for surrendered puppies, new litters

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Animal Services is still urgently looking for fosters for the remaining 9 out of 20 puppies while the young animals await vaccination, spaying/neutering and adoption, said a press release. LAS is also in urgent need of medical fosters for 3 litters of very young nursing puppies, the released added.

As of Monday morning, 11 puppies are with fosters, said the release. The City of Lubbock encourages pet owners to spay/neuter their animals.

“Our community has many stray animals, but has recently seen a lot of stray/surrendered baby animals,” the release emphasized. LAS said spaying/neutering is a “basic part” of responsible pet ownership.

Additionally, LAS reminded that breeding dogs is not something to take lightly and is important to breed animals responsibly.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, LAS said the puppies were unexpectedly surrendered. All puppies appear to be healthy, well-socialized and will be adopted out to new families when ready.

If you are interested in fostering, please call Lubbock Animal Shelter at 806-775-2057.
