Red Raiders Named to Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll

The Texas Tech Red Raiders boast one of the best offensive lines in not just the Big 12, but all of the FBS. On Thursday, the unit was awarded by being named to the midseason honor roll for the Joe Moore Award recognizing the most outstanding offensive line in college football.

Texas Tech is one of 22 programs named to the honor roll and one of just three from the Big 12 alongside Kansas State and West Virginia.

The award was created in 2015 and this is the first time the Red Raiders have been considered.

Through seven weeks, the Red Raiders ‘ offensive line has been one of the best units. It’s helped Texas Tech to be the only school in the country with a top-10 passing leader in Behren Morton, a top-15 receiving leader in Josh Kelly and a top-10 rusher in Tahj Brooks.

The unit of center Sheridan Wilson, left guard Caleb Rogers, right guard Davion Carter, right tackle Ty Buchanan and left tackle Sterling Porcher has helped push Brooks to the rushing lead in the Big 12 and No. 4 in the FBS with 679 rushing yards this year, even after missing a game due to injury in Week 2’s loss to the Washington State Cougars.
