Texas Tech announces homecoming week festivities, parade details to the public

Whether you graduated 50 years ago or last August, Texas Tech invites all alumni to return home for this year’s Homecoming Game and festivities.

This year’s theme, “A Red Raider’s Journey: Events Across the World,” will bring tributes to large celebratory events from around the world to the Hub City through students’ creativity.

Jam-packed with Homecoming classics that are free and open to the public, here is what you need to know about this year’s Homecoming week.

TTU 2024 Homecoming Schedule

  • Oct. 14: Homecoming kickoff in the Student Union Building North Plaza at noon.
  • Oct. 14: Student Organization Sing competition (also known as S.O. Sing) at 7 p.m. at the United Supermarkets Arena.
  • Oct. 18: Techsan Memorial at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Circle. If raining the secondary location is at the SUB Red Raider Ballroom.
  • Oct. 18: Rowdy Raider Rally at 11:30 a.m. at SUB North Plaza.
  • Oct. 18: If weather permits, the Homecoming Parade will be at 6 p.m. at the Texas Tech Broadway entrance near University Avenue.
  • Oct. 18: The Pep Rally and Bonfire will be at 7:30 p.m. on campus in Urbanovsky Park, weather permitting.
  • Oct. 18: The Homecoming Concert featuring Niko Moon and Grammy winner band Midland will be in Urbanovksy Park immediately following the bonfire (around 8:30 p.m.). For more information about parking for the Homecoming Concert, visit www.ttu.edu/campaign/events/launch/.
  • Oct. 19: On game day, alumni and students are invited to Raidergate in the R-3 parking lot south of the University Library at 11 a.m.
  • Oct. 19: Homecoming festivities conclude with the Raider Raiders facing the Baylor Bears at 3 p.m. at Jones AT&T Stadium.
