LUBBOCK, Texas – Waltrenea Cooper, the second-oldest daughter of Tammy Cooper, said she and her sister, Le’Trevia, are still wanting answers.
“We’re suffering and we just need help,” said Cooper. “We just want to solve this and we want it to be over.”
RELATED STORY: 20 years later: Who killed the Cooper family?
Cooper’s mother, Tammy, her half-sister, Jasmine, and her half-twin brothers KaDiece and KaSheim, were brutally murdered inside their east Lubbock apartment at 512 N. MLK on Oct. 24, 2004. The family was found the next morning by a family friend, who had planned to drive the children to school. 20 years later, a suspect has not been arrested.
“My little brothers – one was going blind and the other suffered from cerebral palsy,” said Cooper. “They were in there tortured after their mother and she had to be murdered first.”
Cooper, who spent most of her childhood in California, said her and her mother didn’t have the “greatest” relationship, but that the relationship had gotten better over time.
