LUBBOCK, Texas — On Saturday afternoon, Texas Tech could not pull off the upset against the No. 3 Iowa State Cyclones, losing 85-84 in overtime.
JT Toppin had 18 points with nine rebounds and went 8-16. Chance McMillian scored 18 points with seven rebounds and went 6-11. Christian Anderson also had 18 points off the bench, going 6-11 and went perfect from the three-point line.
This game proved to be a hard-fought one for Texas Tech. The Cyclones went from being down by as much as 13 points to being down by two with six seconds left. A layup by Iowa State’s Joshua Jefferson with a second left in the game to tie it up and begin overtime play.
