LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department compiled numbers of homicides and robberies in Lubbock during February this year.
In February, there were three deaths classified as homicides by LPD. These cases include the death of Robert Johnson on February 2, Adam Hernandez’s death on February 15 and Brittany Blakely on February 21. As of last week, there have only been arrests in two of the cases. Joe Angel Martinez and a 12-year-old male were arrested in connection with the Hernandez case, while Nathaniel Moreno and Ariyah Jimenez were arrested in connection with the Blakely case.

2025’s homicide numbers were an increase from 2024 and 2023, according to LPD. In 2024, there was one murder in the case of Orion Akins. Brian “Tray” Anderson was arrested in connection with the case. LPD said in February of 2023 there were two murders. Reginald Fountain was arrested for Murder in connection with the death of Mario Garza Jr. and Patrick Bradley was arrested for Aggravated Assault in connection with the death of Clifton Holman.
In February of 2025, LPD had 19 reports of robberies, one of them ending in arrest. According to LPD, February of 2024 had 16 reports of robberies with six arrests. Both years are lower than February of 2023, which had 29 reports of robberies with four arrests…
