Experts see water shortages in West Texas and across the state

LUBBOCK, Texas — The last three to four years had been extremely dry across West Texas according to Wolfforth Cotton Farmer, Walter Hagood, which was one of the contributing factors as to why he believed there was a water shortage.

“The lack of water and losing water, and as we’ve kind of getting further and further along and the water’s getting shorter and shorter, it’s become more of a concern and when we talk about agriculture, we’re seeing what one thing that we’re seeing, we’re seeing,” Hagood said. “Those acres not being able to be sustainable for, you know, not enough water.”
