Lubbock Police identifies bicyclist injured in Wednesday morning crash

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department identified the bicyclist who was seriously injured in Wednesday’s crash in Central Lubbock as 37-year-old Joshua Freed.

Officers responded to the 700 block of 34th Street for reports of a collision with injuries at 8:02 a.m.

According to LPD, a box truck, driven by 70-year-old Gilbert Harper, and Freed were traveling west in the 700 block of 34th Street. Harper changed lanes and hit Freed, LPD detailed.

Freed was transported to University Medical Center by EMS with serious injuries…
