Measles exposure reported in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — A person from Lubbock who has tested positive for the measles reportedly visited several locations in San Angelo during their infectious period.

According to the City of San Angelo, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department was notified that the individual stopped at several locations from March 22 through March 23. These locations and estimated times include:

Saturday, March 22:

  • 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens for a funeral
  • 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Golden Corral
  • 5:30 p.m. – Microtel Inn & Suites check-in

Sunday, March 23:

  • 9 a.m. – Microtel Inn & Suites check out
  • 10 a.m. to noon – The Church of God of The Firstborn at 201 W Ave V (Iglesia de Fe)
  • 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. – H-E-B at 3301 Sherwood Way
  • 7:30-9 p.m. – The Church of God of The Firstborn at 201 W Ave V

The City stated that “the measles virus can remain infectious in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves the area.”
