Wolfforth high schooler owns his own business selling eggs

WOLFFORTH, Texas — A 17-year-old high school junior at Frenship High School, Gunner Claybrook, started his business Egg Heads Egg Co when he was in 8th grade. Claybrook started out with 30 chickens, but when Alcove Farms closed, he bought the rest of their chickens and now has around 400.

The business sprouted when Claybrook wanted to start showing pigs for FFA, but his grandparents were not sure if he was responsible enough, so they got chickens to start out with, and it grew from there.

“I just hope to continue to grow it. We’re looking at right now we’re at about 400 hens and we’re pretty set where we’re at, but the more sales we get, that I would be super happy to get more chickens and just hopefully I want it to be a big enough thing to where we can hopefully one day get in like the United Supermarket to maybe HEB because it’s just the most important thing to me is to provide a good product to our customers,” Claybrook said…
