LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Ports-to-Plains Alliance invited the public to attend a special ribbon-cutting and signage unveiling ceremony celebrating the official designation of a 4.2-mile segment of U.S. 87 to Interstate 27 (I-27).
The event will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the Northeast Corner of FM 1585 (the New I-27).
Lubbock Economic Development Alliance said this milestone marks the official designation of the first segment of I-27 completed since the federally designated Ports-to-Plains Corridor.
