Child dead after shots fired in East Lubbock, LPD said

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department said a child died after shots were fired in East Lubbock on Wednesday.

The child was transported by EMS to University Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased.

The call came in just before 5:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of East Bates.
