‘It was traumatic’: neighbors said about K9 dog attack in Lubbock neighborhood

LUBBOCK, Texas — EverythingLubbock.com reported the story of the two people hurt in a dog attack in southwest Lubbock on Saturday, April 12th. Lubbock police said the dog was a K-9 officer.

LPD said the dog escaped from its handler’s backyard. We spoke to neighbors about what happened that Saturday morning.

A neighbor said, “It was horrifying. I mean, my kids were at the door watching all this. This lady from the video I saw did nothing to provoke the initial attack by that dog. The dog lunged and he you know, he was a pound 100 dog, and he hit this lady and took her off her feet. The kids were screaming and crying. You know, they were all screaming.”
