A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded late Tuesday night in North Lubbock County, where deputies say a woman and man were found dead in what authorities are calling a suspected homicide followed by suicide.
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distressing call around 11:46 p.m. on April 15th, from a residence in the 7000 block of County Road 6100. According to the report, the caller discovered 62-year-old Teresa Buritica De Mayon and 69-year-old Joel Mayon deceased at the home.
Patrol deputies were first on the scene and quickly secured the area before contacting investigators to begin a full inquiry. Officials say that both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds, and early evidence suggests this may have been a murder-suicide situation…
