LUBBOCK, Texas –The expanded hours for the MMR vaccine clinic will end after Saturday. Lubbock Public Health will announce an updated clinic schedule next week.
Vaccine clinic schedule through Saturday:
- Wednesday, April 30 10: a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, May 1 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 3 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Updated MMR Vaccination Recommendations:
Infants (6 to 11 months):
- One early dose of the MMR vaccine is now recommended. These children should continue with the standard Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) schedule:
- A second dose at 12 through 15 months
- A final dose at 4 through 6 years
Children (12 months and older):
- Unvaccinated children should receive one dose of the MMR vaccine immediately and a second dose at least 28 days later.
- Children who have received one dose should receive their second dose now, if at least 28 days have passed since the first.
Teens and Adults Without Evidence of Immunity:
- Receive the first dose of MMR vaccine immediately, followed by a second dose at least 28 days later.
Adults Born Between 1957 and 1968:
- If only vaccinated with an older version of the MMR vaccine: receive one dose of the current live-attenuated MMR vaccine now, followed by a second dose at least 28 days later.
- If already received one dose of the current MMR vaccine: receive a second dose immediately (at least 28 days after the first).
Adults Born After 1968 Who Have Received One Dose:
- Receive the second dose of the current MMR vaccine immediately (at least 28 days after the first dose).
MMR Vaccine Is Not Recommended For:
- Adults born before 1957
- Pregnant women
- Individuals with severe immunodeficiency*
