LUBBOCK, Texas — Tucked away in the Woodrow area of South Lubbock, a once small family cemetery has now earned a place in Texas history.
Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, founded in 1962, has been designated a Texas Historical Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. For Brett Assiter, the cemetery’s president, the honor is deeply personal.
