Move Out Give Back program targets illegal dumping, promotes reuse

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – As students prepare to leave campus this summer, the City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department is preparing for their annual effort to keep discarded furniture and appliances out of alleyways.

In partnership with Texas Tech University, the city will host its ‘Move Out Give Back’ program on May 7 and May 17. The initiative encourages students and residents to donate reusable items or responsibly dispose of bulky waste.

Accepted donations include hard surface furniture, small appliances, storage bins and other gently used household goods. Damaged or broken items can also be dropped off for proper disposal…
