Summer In Lubbock Could Be A Record-Breaking Scorcher

Lubbock, Texas is known for hot summers, but this year we may topple some records. Both professionals and the more folksy experts predict that this year will be very hot in the Hub City.

Lubbock is currently enjoying a raining period. In fact, it’s been so rainy there’s a wee bit of a mold smell when it’s not raining. The rain is perfectly timed for farming, but keeping those crops from withering in the sun this summer may be a chore.

Last August Lubbock experienced 28 days of temperatures over 100 degrees. Even then, it was only Lubbock’s third hottest summer in 110 years.
