From the podium to prom: Lubbock senior wins gold and commits to Air Force Academy

LUBBOCK, Texas- – Lubbock High School athlete Reese Pena won gold Saturday in Austin after winning the 5A 1600-meter race with an impressive four-minute and 51-second mark.

The senior will compete at the collegiate level and serve her country after committing to run for the United States Air Force Academy.

Pena explained to EverythingLubbock.com that it’s surreal to be going to the Air Force Academy for both her athletics and her academic achievements in the classroom.
