LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Every week, the City of Lubbock’s food inspectors surprise local restaurants, food trucks, and schools to make sure every meal is up to par.
This week they’re giving out top marks, but one drink spot is on the low-performer line.
Lone Star Tea at 5207 98th had 15 violations.
- Cut oranges, lemons and limes were above the safe cold temperature of 41 degrees.
- The water dispenser had an accumulation of brown residue.
- There was an accumulation of dried food on the fruit slicer.
- An employee washed their hands for only 5 seconds. They must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds.
- An employee used their bare hands to turn off the water at the hand sink. A barrier, like a paper towel, must be use to prevent cross contamination.
- A package of cups was not stored correctly.
- The 3-compartment sink is not plumbed correctly.
- An employee who had been working for more than 60 days was not food certified.
