Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Low of 59°. Winds S 8-12 MPH.Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. High of 92°. Winds SW 20-25 MPH, gusts ~35-45 MPH.
TONIGHT:
Temperatures are on track to be a few degrees warmer tonight through Saturday morning compared to this morning! Lows will fall into the upper 40s to low 60s by sunrise on Saturday. Winds will be calm overnight, with sustained speeds of 8-12 MPH expected out of the south. Around sunrise, speeds are expected to increase. A partly to mostly cloudy sky will persist around the region.

SATURDAY:
Slightly warmer temperatures are expected across the KLBK forecast area for our Saturday. High temperatures will peak in the upper 80s to upper 90s, with warmest temperatures existing over southeastern portions of the region. We will keep a mostly cloudy sky across the region, and winds are expected to remain quite gusty! Sustained speeds of 20-25 MPH are expected out of the southwest, with gusts as high as 35-45 MPH. Patchy blowing dust can also be expected. Saturday night into Sunday morning will remain seasonably mild, as lows cool into the 50s and 60s yet again.

SHORT TERM FORECAST:
Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend, with highs in Lubbock returning to the mid 90s! Winds will remain strong out of the southwest, sustained around 18-22 MPH. A strong cold front will arrive on Monday, dropping highs into the 80s to mid 90s across the forecast area. Winds will remain gusty on Monday, shifting from the west to the northwest behind our cold front. Timing looks to be a little quicker due to how strong this cold front is. Cooler air will filter in Monday night into Tuesday morning. Lows will vary from the 50s and 60s Sunday and Monday mornings, to the 40s and 50s by Tuesday morning. We will remain dry through the short term forecast period.

EXTENDED FORECAST:
Much cooler air returns for Tuesday and Wednesday! Highs will peak in the 70s and 80s under a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky. Winds will shift from the north to the east, with sustained speeds of 10-20 MPH expected. Morning lows will bottom out in the 40s and 50s each morning. We will begin warming up Thursday and Friday, with highs climbing back into the 80s and 90s. Areas east of Lubbock, especially off the Caprock, will peak in the lower 100s Friday! Morning lows will tick up a few notches as well, only cooling into the 50s and 60s by sunrise on Friday. We are expected to remain dry through the extended forecast period.
