Tonight: Mostly clear. Low of 55°. Winds S 8-12 MPH.Tomorrow: Mostly clear. High of 93°. Winds SW 12-18 MPH.

TONIGHT:

Another cool and calm night is in store for the KLBK forecast area tonight through Wednesday morning. We will keep a clear to mostly clear sky around the region. Winds will be out of the south around 8-12 MPH. By sunrise on Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to bottom out in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Coolest temperatures will remain over northwestern areas, with locations off the Caprock and across the Rolling Plains remaining the warmest.

WEDNESDAY:

High temperatures will be roughly 8-12 degrees warmer around the region on Wednesday, peaking in the mid 80s to upper 90s! Hottest temperatures will occur over the lower elevations of the Rolling Plains. We will keep a mostly clear sky around the region, with winds sustained out of the southwest around 12-18 MPH. Wednesday night through Thursday morning will remain quiet. Winds will be out of the south around 8-12 MPH, with low temperatures falling into the 50s and 60s by sunrise on Thursday.

SHORT TERM FORECAST:

Showers and storms will creep their way back into the short term forecast period by Thursday afternoon. A level 1/5 marginal risk of severe storms has already been issued for areas off the Caprock, with damaging wind gusts and large hail being the main concerns. Riming will be during the afternoon and evening hours. This trend will linger into our Friday as well, so heads up to anyone who may be attending any outdoor graduations towards the end of the week! High temperatures will warm into the 90s both days, with a few lower 100s possible off the Caprock and across the Rolling Plains. We will keep a partly to mostly cloudy sky around the region, with stronger winds out of the south and southeast. Sustained speeds of 15-25 MPH will be accompanied by wind gusts of 35-45 MPH. Morning lows will remain in the 50s and 60s. Not everyone will see severe weather during the short term forecast period, let alone rainfall. However, locally heavy downpours will be possible for some!

EXTENDED FORECAST:

Isolated shower and thunderstorm chances will remain every day through the extended forecast period as well. Isolated severe storms will remain possible each day. A strong cold front will arrive on Sunday, bringing in some cooler air! Highs will fall from the 90s and lower 100s Saturday to the 80s and 90s by Sunday. Monday and Tuesday look to bring highs in the 70s and 80s. Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky conditions will persist each day, with winds variating from the southwest Saturday to the northeast on Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday, winds will be back out of the southeast. Winds will range from 15-25 MPH sustained, with gusts as high as 35-45 MPH continuing. Once again, not everyone will see severe weather during the short term forecast period, let alone rainfall. However, locally heavy downpours will be possible for some!
