LUBBOCK, Texas — An observance of Memorial Day was held Monday afternoon at the Lubbock area war memorial in south Lubbock by local veterans organizations to pay tribute to fallen soldiers.
Steve Oien, commander of Commander at Chapter 0900, Military Order of the Purple Heart, helped put the event on to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
