Planet Fitness offers free summer gym membership — if you’re young enough

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Summer may be the perfect time to hit the gym, especially if you’re on break from school. A national gym chain is ready to help those on summer break, offering up a free membership — as long as you fit within a certain age range.

Planet Fitness again has free memberships for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 for the months school is not in session.

The High School Summer Pass allows high school students to use Planet Fitness facilities from June 1 through Aug. 31.

“Many teens continue to be impacted by the long-term mental health impacts from the pandemic, yet studies show that exercise can have a significant, positive impact on teens’ overall wellness,” Craig Benson, Interim CEO at Planet Fitness, said in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming High School Summer Pass participants into our clubs to support them in their health and wellness journeys.”
