Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of 70th street on Wednesday just after 5:15pm. The initial reports had indicated that an elderly adult was still inside the home at the time of the fire.
According to the press release, when Engine 8 arrived on scene, an off-duty officer was already there. He was a relative of the homeowner and had entered the house and pulled the occupant out of the home and had started life-saving measures. LFR stated that when Engine 17 and UMC EMS arrived on scene they took over, but the individual had succumb to their injuries…
