LUBBOCK, Texas — Thursday night’s storms — that of which we will continue to see Friday caused serious damage across the South Plains. As West Carlisle firefighters were responding to many needing help, their own businesses was unfortunately damaged.
Kevin Henricks, Assistant Fire Chief of the West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department, said as they were helping people with overturned mobile homes and fallen fences.

“We had some of our guys that were able to get out of their place of safety, that weren’t able to make it to the fire station before the storm came by and check on the station,” Henricks said. “And that’s when we found out that we were missing the roof of our fire station.”
Henricks explained when he saw the roof completely gone and rain rushing into the day room, “Initially, we were very upset. Obviously, this is our second home to most of us. But at the same time, we were very grateful that nobody was here, nobody was injured. We don’t have any damage to any of our trucks.”…
