West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Dept. pleading for help after storms destroy dayroom

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – After serving the people of west Lubbock, helping other departments in the county and even across the state, the West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department now needs its community’s support. Storms last week tore the roof off the department’s dayroom, leaving the volunteers without a place to train and what they call their “living room”

Volunteering looks a little different, right now, at the department near Inler Ave. and 4th St. Volunteers have started the work to tear down the dayroom the they once built.

“It’s just a special place. You know, the work here was done 100 percent by our members. We poured the concrete and we put the roof on and everything in between, we did,” Chief Tim Smith said…
