‘Hurt someone really bad’: Man charged with threats against Lubbock judge

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock man is facing charges of retaliating against a woman, her attorney and a Lubbock judge.

Officers received an email on Wednesday from an attorney stating their client received threatening calls from 40-year-old Kory Jolly while he was incarcerated at the Lubbock County Detention Center, despite a protective order placed against him, court documents said.

According to court documents, these included threats to a Lubbock judge overseeing a family case law case that Jolly was involved in. According to these documents, Jolly said he knew where the judge lived and that if the case did not go in his favor, “I’m going to hurt someone really bad, it’s going to be that judge.” Despite being told that threatening a judge is a crime he reportedly responded, “It’s no threat. It’s a promise.”

According to the same court document, Jolly also said he was going to place a hit on the woman he was in a relationship with and her attorney, saying of the attorney “If that [attorney] has anything to do with this, I’m going to have to kill that b*****.”
