New Lubbock game wardens assigned duty stations

LUBBOCK, Texas — Three new game wardens from the 67th cadet class started their first official duty day on Tuesday, June 17, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

This comes after about eight months of intense training. The three new wardens and their assigned duty stations are:

Hibbett Sports opening in Lubbock

  • Darian Kelley – Bailey and Lamb Counties
  • Matthew Rollins – Castro, Deaf Smith and Parmer Counties
  • Mikayla Whitus – Cochran and Hockley Counties

A press release explained Texas Game Wardens are the primary enforcement officers focusing on hunting, fishing and water safety regulations and play a critical role in conserving the state’s natural resources.
