Lubbock’s 4th on Broadway will see some changes to safety regulations this year

LUBBOCK, Texas — Fourth on Broadway was under new management for this year, and that meant some changed to security and safety measures for the events. The City of Lubbock’s Emergency Management Director, Joe Moudy, explained how they prepared for this year.

“Each year we do look back on what happened the year before or what’s happened across the nation. We implement lessons learned, look at what happened, see what tweaks or improvements that we can identify and try to make each year run a little bit smoother,” Moudy said.

You’ll see an increased number of barricades and vehicles just blocking routes into the parade making sure that our participants and the public are safe,” Moudy said.
