19-year-old pleads guilty to negligent homicide for death of Lubbock teen

LUBBOCK, Texas– Alyssa Gonzales, 19, pleaded guilty to criminal negligent homicide in connection with the shooting death of 14-year-old Zaydrian Valdez in 2023 during a vehicle burglary spree. Alyssa Gonzales was with Angelina Estrada and Dehvin Garcia, both 17, were accused of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Garcia was also charged with Use/Exhibiting a Deadly Weapon.

Gonzaleswas sentenced to a five-year term of deferred adjudication.
