If it seems like summer just began, you might be surprised to learn that the upcoming school year will begin fairly soon for students in Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Cooper ISD, and Frenship ISD.
When you are a kid, summer is great and it doesn’t go by that fast. Sleeping in, hanging out with friends, summer trips, and for some, getting a job. But as you get older you realize that summer break isn’t really that long. And for many parents, the countdown to the first day of school is on.
When Do Students Go Back To School in Lubbock?
You will soon start hearing about back to school drives and school supply lists for students. Why? Because in about one month, the halls of our public schools will be filled once again.
Students in Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Cooper ISD, and Frenship ISD will all go back to school on Wednesday, August 13 2025. Teachers of course will report earlier and go through professional development days.
Does School Choice Begin This Year in Texas?
Though Texas lawmakers passed Education Saving Accounts during the last legislative session, the school choice provision won’t start until next year. So nothing really changes for students or parents this school year…
