Temperatures Rise as Storms Fade

LUBBOCK, TX (KLBK) – KLBK Chief Meteorologist Jacob Riley has your Monday evening weather update for July 14, 2025.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low of 69°. Winds SE→SW 8-12 MPH.Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. Isolated storm(s). High of 92°. Winds S 12-18 MPH.

TONIGHT:

Showers and storms will quickly fade away after sunset this evening. A partly cloudy sky will remain around the region, with winds shifting from the southeast to the southwest by sunrise on Tuesday. Sustained speeds of 8-12 MPH are likely. Lows will bottom out in the 60s to low 70. Keep an eye out for isolated patches of fog, especially where heavy rain fell on Monday.

TUESDAY:

Tuesday will feature fewer showers and storms, but similar temperatures, winds, and sky conditions across the region when compared to Monday! Highs will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s under a partly cloudy sky, with winds out of the south around 12-18 MPH. A few stray showers or storms will be possible from Noon through 10 PM. Tuesday night through Wednesday morning will remain dry. Temperatures will settle into the 60s to low 70s by sunrise on Wednesday under a partly cloudy sky.

SHORT TERM FORECAST:

Showers and storms look to remain out of the forecast for the most part on Wednesday, before sneaking their way back into the forecast on Thursday. We will see a mix of clouds and sunshine both days, with a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky persisting around the forecast area. Daytime highs will be slightly warmer, ranging through the 90s around the region. Morning lows will hold steady in the 60s to mid 70s. Winds will mainly be out of the south, sustained at 10-20 MPH.

EXTENDED FORECAST:

A much drier, and warmer outlook is expected through our extended forecast period! High temperatures are set to peak in the mid 90s to low 100s Friday through Monday, with the bulk of the heat arriving on Sunday and Monday! Lubbock will likely see its 5th 100 degree day of the year as we head into next week! Isolated showers and storms could occur for some on Monday, but that potential remains extremely low at this point in time. Morning lows will become noticeably warmer, too, only falling into the upper 60s to upper 70s each morning. Winds will remain southerly for the most part, with sustained speeds continuing to range within the 10-20 MPH zone.
