Texas could use a break from the rain pattern that has been sitting over the state since the beginning of July. Flash flooding has killed over 100 people and near daily rain in central Texas and the Hill Country has made recovery efforts even more challenging.
But according to forecasters, the rain will soon be moving out of Texas. Replacing the rain? Extremely hot temperatures.
Weather Pattern Changing In Texas
According to AccuWeather, the area of high pressure that has been sitting over the Gulf is moving west this week. That pressure system has allowed tropical moisture to stream into Texas, kicking of storms and flooding around the state. Most notably in central Texas. Storms are expected Tuesday in the Hill County before drier air moves in.
Even Lubbock and the South Plains will see a change in weather this week and into next week. As July temperatures have been pretty comfortable and we have seen rain throughout the area. Looking at forecasts, the rain chances will drop dramatically for the South Plains starting Tuesday.

Extreme Heat Takes Aim at Texas
With the rain moving out and drier conditions moving in, warmer temperatures are set to move in as well. That means those hot, summer time temperatures will be popping up throughout Texas, which could also impact recovery operations in the Hill Country…
